Renato Moicano vs Jai Herbert Fight Scheduled for June 26th

Former Cage Warriors champion Herbert is looking for his first UFC victory after coming up short in his debut. Meanwhile, once a contender, Moicano is still attempting to get things back on track after a difficult stretch. News of this bout’s announcement was first reported by MMA Junkie. It’s since been relayed by other media outlets.

Lightweights Collide At UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov

Renato Moicano (14-4-1, 6-4 UFC) was once the #5 ranked featherweight in the world, but things have gone south since he lost to Jose Aldo in 2019. Prior to that, the Brazilian was 5-1 in the UFC with wins over Jeremy Stephens, Calvin Kattar, and Cub Swanson. He’s a long, rangy submission artist who still possesses all the talent that got him a taste of that contender status. In two of his last three fights, Moicano hasn’t made it out of the first round. Now, it should be noted that he’s willing to fight anybody, and those losses came to The Korean Zombie and Rafael Fiziev.

Jai Herbert (10-2, 0-1 UFC) entered the UFC last July against a very tough and rugged veteran in Francisco Trinaldo. Despite ultimately losing, the England native showcased a ton of skill and nearly had his opponent finished at times. The 32-year-old signed to the promotion following an extensive and successful stint for Cage Warriors, where he became lightweight champion in 2019. Herbert is tall and long for his division, standing at 6’1″ with a 77″ reach. “The Black Country Banger” draws another tough test in his next fight, but that only speaks to how highly thought of he is as a prospect.
