Formula 1 announced that the Miami Grand Prix is official and will be held for the next 10-years starting in 2022. Formula 1 made the official announcement on Sunday, April 17th, 2021, prior to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy.

This will bring another race to the United States of America as Formula 1 has raced in Austin, Texas as their only other American date on the schedule. This 10-year deal will ensure that there are two races in the U.S.A starting in 2022 and this will definitely help the exposure of Formula 1 going forward.

Formula 1: Miami GP Overview

The newest addition to the Formula One schedule will be the Miami GP. The newly designed track will feature 19 corners, 3 DRS zones, and is measured at 5.41 Kilometers long with speeds topping out at 320 kilometers per hour. The track will be set up around the iconic Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Formula 1: Miami GP Managing Partner

The managing partner that helped bring another Formula One Grand Prix to the United States is Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium Tom Garfinkel. The NFL Owner will now be the Managing Partner for the Miami Grand Prix. Tom Garfinkel was hired by the Miami Dolphins in 2013 and is a major reason why Formula 1 will be racing around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Tom Garfinkel will act as a managing partner along with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross who in 2008 bought 50 percent of the Miami Dolphins, Stephen Ross has an estimated net worth of $ 7 Billion USD. Stephen Ross is a major real estate player as he is the majority owner and chairman of The Related Companies.

The pair will now add Formula One Grand Prix managing partners to their already outstanding portfolios, an exciting 10-years await Miami, Florida, and Formula One. When asked why they wanted to get into racing and Formula one, Tom Garfinkel had this to say “Formula 1 racing is as big as it gets.”

F1: Growing the brand

Formula One continues to grow and will now add another American date to help the exposure even more. With the 10-year deal signed U.S.A race fans will have two opportunities to see the most exciting race cars and drivers up close and personally. Miami, Florida is a great state to host any type of event, with warm sun all year around it will make for an amazing backdrop while the top F1 drivers fly around the Hard Rock Stadium at excessive speeds.

Red Bull F1 Team drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were asked about their thoughts on the new Miami GP, Sergio Perez had this to say, “Miami and F1 is a great combination, a lot of energy I am excited to see how the track is.” Both drivers shared their excitement and optimism as they look forward to racing in Miami, Florida.

In the promo video shot by Red Bull F1 Team, Max Verstappen takes a lap around Miami Beach before heading onto the roads and taking the fans for a tour around some iconic buildings and places in Miami, Florida. The drivers understand just how important this will be to grow the fanbase outside of Europe where F1 has been so popular for many, many years.

Formula One: Portugal GP Next for 2021 Schedule

Formula One heads to Portugal for the next race on the 2021 schedule, the battle for the top spot in the constructor’s standings and drivers standings appears to be a two-team race, Max Verstappen and 7-time defending champion Lewis Hamilton will continue their battle on April 30th – May 2nd, 2021.
