TJ Dillashaw Out Of Comeback Fight Versus Cory Sandhagen

TJ Dillashaw has been forced to withdraw from his main event fight next week against Cory Sandhagen with an injury, delaying the former UFC bantamweight champion’s long-awaited return.

Dillashaw was scheduled to face #2 ranked bantamweight Sandhagen in the main event of a UFC Fight Night on May 8th. However, the 35-year-old has been forced to withdraw having picked up a cut above his right eye which he received in training camp ahead of his upcoming fight, UFC fans will now have to wait longer for his return.

TJ Dillashaw’s Return Delayed

It is likely that a strawweight bout between Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez will now headline the May 8th Fight Night card.

Dillashaw had been serving a two-year suspension having tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) prior to his fight against Henry Cejudo in his unsuccessful quest of becoming a two-division champion, having suffered a 1st round TKO loss. This suspension led to him relinquishing his bantamweight title as he took a spell on the sidelines.

Dillashaw will now have to wait for his UFC return to be rescheduled with Sandhagen likely to be his opponent.

Following his submission loss to now bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, Sandhagen had beaten Marlon Moraes in spectacular fashion with a spinning wheel kick to punches TKO victory following that up with a 1st round flying knee knockout of Frankie Edgar coming into his now cancelled fight against TJ Dillashaw.

Despite the unfortunate news involving the cancellation of the main event, the UFC Fight Night May 8th card still involves some exciting matchups for fans to be excited for! Including Donald Cerrone vs Diego Sanchez, Geoff Neal vs Neil Magny, Diego Ferreira vs Gregor Gillespie and Amanda Ribas vs Angela Hill.

Who do you see winning between TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen once the fight is rescheduled?
