With Diego Sanchez Recently Cut, A Cerrone vs Morono Fight Has Been Added to UFC Vegas 26

Cerrone vs Morono has officially been added to the UFC Vegas 26 card this Saturday night (May 8th). “Cowboy” Cerrone looks to bounce back from a rough five-fight stretch with a win against the dangerous Alex Morono. This bout was first reported by C. Contreras Legaspi and has since been relayed by other outlets.

It was announced earlier this week that the UFC made the decision to cut Diego Sanchez from the roster. Although the reasoning is still not clear, the removal of Sanchez caught MMA fans completely off guard. The UFC was left without an opponent for Donald Cerrone until one man decided to save the day. With Sanchez now retired, Alex Morono steps in looking to rebound from his loss to Anthony Pettis against another UFC legend always ready for a war.

Alex Morono Looks to Get Back On Track Against MMA Legend Donald Cerrone

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (36-15, 23-12 UFC) began his pro career fifteen years ago before leaving the WEC to sign with the UFC. Fighters come and go in the UFC, but Cerrone has solidified himself as a legend by competing with the best of the best for more than a decade. He now finds himself in need of a win after five straight fights without coming out victorious. Luckily for Cerrone, all it takes is one win to put an MMA legend back on track. He will need to be at his best because “The Great White” is guaranteed to bring him a war on Saturday night.

Alex “The Great White” Morono (18-7, 7-4 UFC) got signed by the UFC back in 2016. Since being signed by the UFC, Morono has displayed a handful of impressive performances. He now finds himself in need of a bounce-back win after his recent loss to Pettis at UFC Vegas 17. Real fighters stay ready, and Morono showed that by taking this fight on a week’s notice. Morono now finds himself with a golden opportunity to add the legendary Cowboy name to his resume.
