2021 MLB Highlights: Player of the Week April 26–May 2nd

The latest 2021 MLB Highlights have dropped with Player Of The Week Honours going to Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs getting the nod for the National League and Corey Kluber of the New York Yankees for the American League.

2021 MLB Highlights: Corey Kluber Pads His Already Impressive Resume

Kluber shared 2021 MLB Highlights for Player Of The Week honours way back in 2013 with a Cleveland Indians teammate as his career was first getting going in the Majors. He got the award again in September 2014 as well as Pitcher of the Month honours on the way to winning his first Cy Young Award.

This past week we see the 2021 MLB Highlights he had a perfect 2-0 record with a 0.61 ERA across 14.2 innings pitched. With15 strikeouts against eight hits and three walks, Sunday"s game saw him dominate with 8.0 shutout innings, 10 strikeouts, two hits and one walk.

Kluber is a three-time MLB All-Star, two-time winner of the Cy Young Award, 2014 and 2017 and in 2016 he was named the Sporting News AL Starting Pitcher of the Year. He led the major leagues in earned run average (ERA) in 2017, and has twice led the AL in wins.

On May 13, 2015, Kluber struck out at least 18 batters in a nine-inning game, doing so versus the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2018, Kluber notched his first 20-win season.

Bryant Also Has An Impressive Resume Since Joining the Cubs in 2015

Kris Bryant"s week was equally impressive with a 417/.500/1.042 slash line along with six runs scored, 10 hits, three doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI and four walks over six games played.

It was also the second time since the start of the season that he hit more than one home run in a game, with two against the Cincinnati Reds on May 2nd.

 That same game against the Reds, Bryant went 3-for-5 with two runs, a double, and three RBI as well. He is closing in on the 14th spot for all time home runs hit by Cubs players and is now behind the Hawk, Andre Dawson.

Bryant has impressed since entering the Majors in 2015. He was awarded 2015 NL Outstanding Rookie from the Player Choice Awards. iBryant batted .275 with 26 home runs, 31 doubles, and 99 RBIs, which were the most for a rookie since Albert Pujols"s 130 for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2001.

He won the World Series with the Cubs in 2016 as well as the National League"s MVP.
