UFC Vegas 26 Weigh-In Results: Benoit Nearly Collapses on the Scale, Ferreira Misses Weight

UFC Vegas 26 is being headlined by two women ready to do whatever it takes to get their hands raised. Flyweight contender Marina Rodriguez (13-1-2) takes on Michelle Waterson (18-8) in a five-round main event. With twelve intriguing matchups on this fight card, the only thing left to do was the UFC Vegas 26 weigh-in.

Things got scary at the UFC Vegas 26 weigh-in as Ryan Benoit failed to make weight. Benoit came out stumbling and needed assistance to weigh-in. He was physically unable to stand on the scale long enough for the weight to register. The head of the Nevada State Commission chose to have Benoit checked out by a doctor before weighing in. Benoit returned to the scale minutes later to ultimately weigh-in three pounds over the Flyweight limit. Due to the severity of the situation, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has decided to cancel the fight to ensure Benoit’s safety.

Diego Ferreira missed the Lightweight limit by 4.5 pounds for his bout against Gregor Gillespie. The Nevada State Athletic Commission has decided to allow the fight to continue with 30% of Ferreira’s purse going to Gillespie.

Philipe Lins was pulled from his fight against Ben Rothwell due to an illness. Rothwell successfully weighed in, but will be left without an opponent. Unclear if the illness had anything to do with cutting weight.

Overall, it was a subpar weigh-in performance for the UFC Vegas 26 fighters as two fighters missed weight badly. After the UFC Vegas 26 weigh-in, the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved ten of the eleven fights. Check out the full UFC Vegas 26 weigh-in results below!
