BRAVE CF fighter Sam Patterson will have his work cut out for him, when he faces off against his toughest challenge to date in veteran fighter Ylies Djiroun on June 4th at BRAVE CF 51 The Future Is Here. The 25-year-old UK native is supremely confident heading into his scheduled bout and didn’t mince words when recently asked about it by media members.
Patterson Speaks Leading Into Brave CF 51
“The opponent was irrelevant really,” Patterson said. “But a good feather in my cap when I beat another much more experienced opponent in Ylies Djiroun. If he comes limited to one art, he will have a rough night.” When speaking on the difference in experience, Patterson believes a massive 6-inch height difference and huge reach advantage will more than level the playing field.
“If we put the inches between us, compared to his record and my record, we are probably on par, you know,” Patterson said. “He is a lot shorter than me, he’s like 5 foot nothing. I don’t know what his height is, but I believe any Lightweight I face, I’m gonna have the reach advantage and the height advantage.”
A Look At Patterson vs Djiroun
Leading into BRAVE CF 51, Patterson likes to pride himself on beating more experienced opponents, with his most recent fight being a KO/TKO victory over an always dangerous (9-3) Felipe Silva. “The Future” who is now affiliated with Team Crossface out of Walford, England is currently riding a 5 fight win streak, that dates all the way back to early 2018. With a well-rounded skill set that has seen half of Patterson’s six victories coming by way of KO/TKO, and the other half via submission. This fight at BRAVE CF 51 will be the young fighter’s biggest test to date on the path to Mixed Martial Arts greatness.
For his part, Ylies Djiroun has 3 times the amount of fights under his belt than Patterson does, the BRAVE CF and PFL veteran has been fighting professionally for a decade now. With 12 out of his 18 victories coming by way of stoppage, 10 of which were via submission. Not only is he ranked as the number 1 Lightweight in western Europe, but he is also recognized as the top-ranked Lightweight in the United States. Fighting out of France, the 28-year-old Djiroun who is affiliated with the Bulgarian Top Team is currently riding a 2 fight win streak and holds notable wins over Guilherme Cadena and Abdul-Rakhman Makhazhiev.
Ylies Djiroun vs Sam Patterson will be taking place as part of the main card at BRAVE CF 51 in Minsk, Belarus on June 4th, a night headlined by the return of the former BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion Lucas Mineiro Martins facing the former two-division national champion Marcel Grabinski.
