Leading up to his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 51: The Future Is Here Dagestan based fighter Abdulmutalip Gairbekov (15-2-1) is a bundle of emotion, and that’s mostly due to the fact he was supposed to debut back in March at BRAVE CF 49, where he was scheduled in a bout against Italian fighter Valeriu Mircea (25-7-1). That fight ended up getting scrapped after Mircea was forced to withdraw, and a suitable replacement couldn’t be found in time.
Gairbekovs’ future wouldn’t have long to wait though, as only a few short weeks after the fight cancellation he would be offered a spot on BRAVE CF 51: The Future Is Here, and also a step up in competition. His opponent would be the number 1 ranked Russian Featherweight and the number 2 ranked Russian Lightweight Roman Bogatov (11-1-0).

For Abdulmutalip Gairbekov though, the news of his opponent was like music to his ears. “No disrespect towards Valeriu Mircea, but Roman is one of the top fighters in the world, having the chance to fight him is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s my ticket to the top of the division in BRAVE CF”, he said. “I was so happy when we were scheduled to fight each other because here in Dagestan I have so many fighters that are able to emulate Bogatov, I see him as a very well-rounded opponent, very skillful, but I believe I’m better in every area and my teammates gave the exact training I needed leading up to this fight”.
