The Cleveland Browns 2021 schedule has officially been released and the road to the playoffs has officially begun again. With tours through the AFC West and NFC north, the Browns have some tough games. But with an even better team, the Browns are poised to make some noise. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for Cleveland this season.
Cleveland Browns 2021 Schedule: Divisional Games
We’ll start with the easiest part of this breakdown, the divisional games. The Browns play these six games every season and went 3-3 in the division last season. If I had to guess, the Browns will have a similar record in the division this season. The Browns dropped both games to the Baltimore Ravens last season and split with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They did beat the Cincinnati Bengals twice, however.
Despite the two losses to the Ravens last season, I’d expect them to bounce back this season and take one of the two against Baltimore. The same can be said for Pittsburgh as the teams will probably split their games this season as well. The Bengals however are where the Browns can shine. Cleveland is the better and more talented team and should be able to take two games from the Bengals. This puts them at 4-2 in the division and 4-2 overall.
Cleveland Browns 2021 Schedule: The NFC Teams
With the new schedule rules, the Browns play five games in the NFC rather than the normal four. With the way, the schedule rotates the Browns, and the rest of the AFC North will battle the NFC North. This division is a tough one to predict. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears both made the postseason last year. And from the looks of things, unless Aaron Rodgers gets moved, those two teams are both good enough to make it again.
The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions aren’t great and both should be wins the Browns pick up. As for the Bears and Packers, I think the Browns split with these two teams and go 3-1 against the NFC North. The Bears’ defense is good enough to hang with Cleveland, but I worry about the Bears’ ability to score.
The fifth team is the Arizona Cardinals. Due to the 17th game being added each team in the NFL will play an extra cross-conference game. That game is against the Cardinals. I don’t have a lot to say on the matter as I don’t think too highly of the Cardinals this season. They will have a tough time playing in the Dawg Pound and the Browns should take this one as well. This makes them 4-1 against the NFC and they sit at 8-3 overall.
Cleveland Browns 2021 Schedule: AFC
The final piece in the Browns schedule puzzle is the rest of the AFC Teams. The Browns battle the AFC West and the third-place teams in the east and the south. Despite the third-place schedule, the Browns do face some tough teams in the AFC. I’d imagine this is the toughest part of the Browns’ schedule as they face numerous talented teams. On the surface, I could see losses to the Kansas City Cheifs, Los Angeles Chargers, and New England Patriots. The rest of the teams should be games the Browns can win. At worst the team goes 3-3 in their six AFC games, but I predict them to go 4-2. Making them 12-5 on the season.
Cleveland Browns 2021 Schedule: Final Results
On paper, the Browns have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. This is mostly based on the fact they play in one of the NFL’s toughest divisions. Add the games against Green Bay and Kansas City, the Browns will be challenged this season. But to be the best, you have to beat the best and the Browns have a lot of talent to do that. I expect another great season for the Browns.
