Despite going through a miserable season, Orioles fans should work together on getting Cedric Mullins to the All-Star Game. The 26-year old Centerfielder has become a star this season in Baltimore and is currently in fourth place in war according to FanGraphs. On the season, he is hitting .319/.389/.552 and his 13 home runs have almost doubled his total career homers going into the season.

The Current Vote Totals

In order to get Cedric Mullins to the All-Star Game is voting him to the second round of voting for this year’s game. For Outfielders, the top 9 vote-getters will move to the second round where they will face off to decide the starters. The good news is that Mullins is currently in the ninth spot, but the bad news is he is less than 8,000 votes ahead of Randy Arozarena.

Meanwhile, the current top three vote-getters in the Outfield are Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, and Byron Buxton. While all three players are having nice seasons, Mullins is a statistically better player this season than those three. Buxton leads the way with a .371 batting average but has the fewest home runs of the four outfielders. In fact, Judge has only 2 more homers than Mullins while Trout is 5 behind Baltimore’s Centerfielder. Meanwhile, Judge is batting down at .280 and has a lower OBP than Mullins. Finally, all three outfielders have missed time due to injury, notably Trout who has missed a decent sized chunk of the season.

The first step for Mullins will be getting him to the final vote which will happen later this week.

How to Get Him to Colorado

For now, the Orioles need the help of the fans to get Cedric Mullins to the All-Star Game. Fans can vote up to five times a day and Mullins will need all the help he can get to run down some of the most known players in the game.
