The new Bundesliga season will commence on August 13th, with the Bundesliga 2 beginning three weeks earlier on July 23rd.

Bundesliga 2021/22 Fixtures

Champions Bayern Munich kick of the Bundesliga 2021/22 Fixtures with a opening day traditional fixture away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday the 13th of August 2021, 19:30PM kick off.
Then Bayern will face last seasons runners up where Julian Nagelsmann has a reunion with his former club RB Leipzig on the road game week 4 on the weekend of 11/12th September 2021 and their fierce rivals again away at Dortmund Game Week 14 on 3rd-5th December 2021.
The opening weekend sees the interesting match in Dortmund, where former Gladbach coach Marco Rose’s first challenge comes against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Union Berlin will look to build on their highly impressive 2020/21 campaign which culminated in qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League with the visit of Bayer Leverkusen.

Opening Day Statistics
After their 8-0 dismantling of Schalke on Matchday 1 of 2020/21, it is no surprise to learn that Bayern Munich have the strongest opening-day record of all Bundesliga clubs, with an average of over 2.1 points per game.
Defending champions have won their Matchday 1 fixtures in 33 out of 58 seasons (D13, L12), scoring 131 goals and conceding 70 times.
No champion has ever lost an official opening game, boasting a record of 15 wins and four draws and an aggregate score of 56-16.
The last team to lose on Matchday 1 but go on to win the title was Borussia Dortmund in 2010/11. They were beaten 2-0 by Bayer Leverkusen.
Four teams that topped the Matchday 1 standings have been relegated: Hansa Rostock (1991/92), Karlsruhe (1997/98), Borussia Mönchengladbach (1998/99) and Arminia Bielefeld (2002/03).
Dortmund have suffered more Matchday 1 defeats than any other club (22).
A Bayern player has scored the first goal of a season a league-leading 16 times. Dortmund are next (eight players), followed by Duisburg (four).
And finally Robert Lewandowski has featured in more successive Matchday 1 wins than any player in Bundesliga history (eight in total from 2011 to 2018).
