The latest MLB news, 5 Blue Jays players have reached the final phase of voting for the MLB All-star game at Coors Field. Also leading the way in all voting is Blue Jays infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Blue Jays All-Star Voting: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads all players in voting with over 2.7 Million votes. Guerrero Jr. has been, by far, the best hitter in baseball for the 2021 season and he has led nearly every hitting category, most notably the homerun lead with Shohei Othani hot on his heels.
The latest MLB news includes Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Opting to skip the Homerun Derby at the All-Star festivities in Colorado. He announced he will use the time to relax and recharge as his Toronto Blue Jays teammates set their sights on the second half of the MLB season. This isn"t a horrible decision made by Guerrero Jr. as he has been locked in and the Homerun Derby could take time to catch up from once regular season play resumes.
The Blue Jay"s faithful may be split on their reactions but should the Blue Jays continue to string wins together and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Leads all MLB hitters this season, it will be the best thing hes ever done for himself and his team.
Blue Jays All-Star Voting: Five Reach Final Phase
The Toronto Blue Jay"s have an abundance of potential All-star game starters. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Marcus Semien, Bo Bichette, Randal Grichuk, and Teoscar Hernandez.
All five players have had terrific seasons so far in 2021, Teoscar Hernandez battled covid-19 and spent a lengthy period out of the lineup earlier this season. Hernandez has 11 homeruns, 47 RBI"s, and an impressive .298 batting average so far this season.
Marcus Semien currently has 18 homeruns, and 45 RBI"s for the 2021 campaign, He has taken over as the Blue Jays leading hitter with his consistency this season. Bo Bichette has reached 50 RBI"s this season, one of three Blue Jays to reach this feat. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Randal Grichuk are the other two players with 50 or more RBIs this season.
Randal Grichuk has 52 RBI"S already this season, that"s thanks in large part to the 14 home runs he has hit this season as well. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Is running away with the RBI"s lead as he now has 64 on the season and doesn"t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
Blue Jays All-Star Voting: Rest of the Squad
Toronto has been exciting to watch all season long, they score runs in bunches, however, the bullpen has been a glaring disappointment lately after beginning as one of the best relief pitching staff in the entire MLB.
In recent weeks and months the Blue Jays have blown multiple late game leads and could be much better off in the Standings then their current position. Toronto trails the Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, and the New York Yankees in the American League East Division.
