We are only one day away from the highly anticipated LFNE Championship 4 event. Two championship bouts will be headlining this card, the first of which is between two of the most experienced fighters in the promotion. With so much on the line on July 10th, let us take a look at how these women match up against each other.
First Look At the Fighters
Felista Mugo is the current female champion of LFNEC. She has a record of 4-1 and has technical grappling that will definitely be her advantage heading into this fight. “Young Queen” looks to silence her opponent in a dominant fashion but doing this is no easy feat.
Peris Githiga is one of LFNEC’s most experienced competitors, with a record of 5-3. “Iron Leg” will be looking to hear “and new” after using her tools to dismantle the current champ. Githiga has amazing Muay Thai, and as her nickname states, her kicks are absolutely lethal.
LFNE Championship 4: Felista Mugo vs. Peris Githiga Breakdown
Mugo has some of the best grappling skills within the promotion. Her wrist control is faultless, and if this bout goes to the canvas, it might be a quick finish for Mugo. Standing across from her will be a lethal striker who has tremendous flexibility and can throw kicks from the most obscure angles.
“Iron Leg” should look to dismantle the champion’s lower body. Her wrestling base would become compromised, leading to a heavy advantage in favor of the challenger. The most interesting part of this matchup comes in the clinch. Both women have almost mastered this part of fighting, although in different practices.
Githiga has a deadly Thai clinch where knees could be catastrophic towards the champ; the right defense could allow transitions to sneak in for Mugo. Over hooks and under hooks would be her best chance of getting the fight down as Githiga has the defense needed to prevent opponents from getting her back.
Mugo vs. Githiga is an intriguing matchup and will showcase the amazing talents that LFNEC has to offer.
