The Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics have agreed on a trade that sends Josh Richardson to the Celtics in what looks like a salary dump for the Mavericks to go after their free agency targets.

The Celtics used the remainder of their Gordon Hayward TPE (traded player exception) for this deal.

Richardson averaged 12/3/3 on 43% FG and 33% 3PT, proving to be an efficient role player for the Mavericks

The Celtics also traded away Tristan Thompson to the Atlanta Hawks in a separate deal, which saw them acquire Kris Dunn, Bruno Fernando, and a future second-round pick.

It also looks like the Celtics aren’t finished with their business either, with reports suggesting after the Richardson trade was finalized that the Celtics ‘have a few things going on right now’ according to a Celtics reporter.

Things are starting to look a bit better for Celtics fans, and If I were a Celtics fan, I would keep my eyes open for any more moves that Brad Stevens and Ime Udoka decide to make.
