For the second time in less than 3 months, the Lightweight bout between Lucas “Mineiro” Martins and Marcel Grabinski suffered a last-minute cancelation at BRAVE CF 53, although, this time, not so much like before when Grabsinki fell ill during the interval between the co-main event and the main event of the evening.
According to BRAVE CF officials, Marcel Grabinski was forced to withdraw from the rescheduled bout a little less than a week prior to the event due to Covid-19 protocols.
This was of course a rescheduled bout Grabinski was supposed to face Martins at BRAVE CF 51: The Future Is Here in Minsk, Belarus this past June.
This led to Grabinski being replaced by Kazakhstan’s local standout Olzhas Eskaraev.
Eskaraev weathered an early storm from the former champion before shocking him and the BRAVE nation with a rear-naked choke submission victory in the second round.
Shots fired by Grabinski
In an Instagram post that has since been removed, Grabinski called out the former Champion Martins stating “You’re not explaining your defeat, but your looking for an excuse for your defeat”, before adding “your opponent had 4 days of preparation, you again had 4 months preparation, ridiculous”
Grabinski then stated that “God protected you, I would have killed you!”
This is sure to have added to the already heated exchanges between the two, as of yet there has been no response by Martins, but one would assume he will not take to this message kindly, this will continue to add excitement to the potential rescheduled bout between these two men.
Do you want to see Grabinski vs Martins rescheduled? Will we finally get to see these men settle their differences? Watch this space.
