Bellator will make its return to Dublin, Ireland on November 5th when home favorite James Gallagher will take on bantamweight contender Patchy Mix at Bellator 270.
Bellator 270 will take place at 3Arena and will be co-headlined by the rematch of Peter Queally vs Patricky Pitbull. The first meeting between the pair took place earlier this year at Bellator 258 where the Irishman left victorious via TKO as the referee called a stop to the fight due to a cut on the eye of the Brazilian.
The last time Bellator visited Irish soil was in February 2020, with Bellator 240 taking place as Leah McCourt victorious in the main event that time.
James Gallagher who cornered Queally at his victory at Bellator 258 was originally scheduled to face Mix that night. However, Gallagher was forced to withdraw from the fight due to undisclosed reasons.
He will now be looking to climb the rankings and enter title contention with a victory over the American as he has the opportunity to make a real statement in the main event of Bellator 270.
Bad Blood Settled at Bellator 270: James Gallagher vs Patchy Mix
James Gallagher (11-1 MMA, 8-1 Bellator) is riding a four-fight winning streak entering Bellator 270, with his most recent victory coming towards the end of 2020 over Cal Ellenor. The 24-year-old is one of the hottest talents coming out of Europe and has made quite the name for himself in Bellator having finished six of his eight victories inside the cage. The Irishman is also teammates with Conor McGregor and is coached by John Kavanagh.
Patchy Mix (14-1 MMA, 3-1 Bellator) fought at Bellator 258 despite Gallagher’s withdrawal as he faced and beat Albert Morales via submission in the 3rd round. After the fight, Mix spoke on the bad blood between him and his next opponent, claiming that Gallagher had sent him direct messages all fight week ‘harassing’ the American.
The bantamweight contenders will finally get the opportunity to settle their bad blood inside the cage for the fans’ entertainment in the main event of Bellator 270 in Dublin, Ireland on November 5th.
