Darren Stewart was cut from the UFC following four fights without a victory, falling short to Kevin Holland, Eryk Anders, and, more recently, Dustin Jacoby. Stewart was also involved in a no-contest in March due to an illegal knee by Anders. However, he could count his blessing as the contest was close to being stopped.
The thirty-year-old joined the organisation in 2016 after breezing past the regional scene with seven straight wins on shows such as Cage Warriors and Killacam Fight Night. The Dentist had a harsh welcoming to the worlds leading MMA promotion as he failed to pick up a victory in his first four bouts. A no-contest and three defeats, two in the way of submission.
Despite the rough patch, Darren Stewart’s time with the UFC wasn’t all doom and gloom. Stewart’s best spell came between 2018 and 2019, where he won five of his seven bouts, with wins over Eric Spicely, Charles Byrd, Bevon Lewis and Deron Winn.
Since the announcement, Darren Stewart has taken to his Instagram to thanks fans for the support and indicates his future will be at middleweight moving forward.
