Love him or hate him, he is back. The 45th president will be commentating on an alternate pay-per-view broadcast of the Vitor Belfort vs. Evander Holyfield card, Triller announced to ESPN.

Donald Trump is set to be joined by his son Donald Trump Jr. on a “gamecast” feed of the pay-per-view broadcast from Hollywood, Florida, which also includes former UFC champions Anderson Silva vs. Tito Ortiz. Trump, 75, is no stranger to boxing events, having hosted many at his casinos in the 1980s and 90s.

“I love great fighters and great fights,” Trump Sr. said. “I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event.”

Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, 58, is set to take on 44-year-old former UFC lightweight champion Vitor Belfort in the main event of the four-fight card. Holyfield (57-10-2) remains the only boxer to hold the undisputed title in two weight classes in the three-belt era, meaning that he held the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles simultaneously. Holyfield is taking the bout on roughly two weeks’ notice after Belfort’s previous opponent Oscar de la Hoya had to pull out of the bout due to a positive COVID test.

Vitor Belfort (26-14-0) is a former UFC light heavyweight champion who had stints in other promotions such as Bellator and PRIDE. He won the title against Randy Couture by semi-dubious means after a piece of his glove cut his eye, but reclaimed it later on in his career. This will be his first attempt at a boxing bout, as he has had many fights in the UFC at both 185 and 205.

This will be Trump’s first major foray into the public spotlight since losing his reelection bid for president to Joe Biden. However, he will be on an alternate broadcast while Jim Lampley and Shawn Porter will head the main broadcast.

Triller has had celebrity commentators before, including having Snoop Dogg call the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. fight, as well as the Jake Paul-Ben Askren telecast, which also included Pete Davidson.

What do you think about Trump and his return to publicity, especially at such a spectacle as a Triller event? Let us know in the comments!
