After a long off-season, football is finally back and here to stay! For the next 18 weeks, we can all sit back and enjoy Sundays full of NFL excitement. To add to the excitement, I am going to outline my best bets for the week every week. From my first best bets article, you can note that I will be focusing predominantly focusing my bets on the Washington Football Team, but there are other market inefficiencies that I would like to capitalize on as well.
Keep in mind all these lines are dynamic and subject to change at any moment. If you do not see a perceived edge on a game, do not bet it. Also, I am not a professional bettor, do your own due diligence before making any wagers. You can track all the bets I am playing on the Betstamp app – follow me @Slimeaction. For the app, assume 1 unit =$10. Without further ado, let’s take a look into the best bets for the first week of the NFL Season.
NFL Week One Bets I am Playing:
2U Washington Football Team (-1) (-104) (Pinnacle)
As you can see from my best Washington Future Bets article and my Washington Football Team Week One Preview article, I am bullish on Washington this season and expect them to show they mean business week one. This is a fairly evenly matched game, but I anticipate Washington’s defensive line to create enough pressure on Justin Herbert to win the game.
1U Keenan Allen (Over 57.5 Recieving Yards) (-122) (Pinnacle)
While I expect Washington to win on Sunday afternoon, I still expect Keenan Allen to have a big game. Washington released Jimmy Moreland, their starting slot corner in 2020, and has no clear option to guard Allen in the slot. While Washington’s CB room is stout, I expect Allen to still get the best of this unit.
1U Kyle Pitts (At Least One TD Recpetion) (+145) (Pinnacle)
I expect Kyle Pitts, the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history, to make his presence felt during his first NFL game. Pitts is already the 2nd best offensive weapon for Atlanta and, quite frankly, no one on the Eagles has the physical attributes to match up with Pitts. I see Matt Ryan finding Pitts in the end zone for his first career touchdown.
1U 2 Team 6 pt Teaser: (LAR -1.5)/(Buf -.5) (-110) (Fanduel)
I think the Rams will easily take care of the Chicago Bears on Sunday night – the Rams pass rush will disrupt everything Matt Nagy and co. will try to run. The Bills open their season with the Steelers, and while Tomlin and Roethlisberger have been a staple in the AFC for years, I think this will be the first season they do not end with a winning record during Tomlin’s tenure – Buffalo wins a close one.
1U 2 team Parlay: (Washington ML)/(Jacksonville ML) +203
While I already believe Washington will win on Sunday, I also believe Trevor Lawrence gets his first career win against the Texans that seem to be in total disarray. James Robinson should run rampant and I do not think the Texans are strong enough anywhere to win – though this could be one of the few games they win all season.
Season Record: 0-0 0U
