The luxurious hotel Paris Saint-Germain’s new main man Lionel Messi is currently living in, was reported to have been hit by masked burglars, seemingly leaving the Argentine and his family distraught and unsettled in the city.

Messi is living in the Le Royal Monceau hotel with his wife and their 3 kids but the family now find themselves in a difficult situation only little more than a month since their migration to France.

The thieves allegedly broke into the hotel through a balcony door on a floor just above where the Argentine is staying.

According to the Daily Mirror, the masked men gained entry to the renowned lodge through an escalade on the side of the building from the roof.

One female guest was robbed of her £3 000 necklace, as well as a pair of earrings worth £500 and £2 000 in cash.

CCTV footage captured the masked men as they entered the building via an unlocked door in a location near Messi’s suite, which is said to cost £17 000 per night to stay in.

Security at the hotel has reportedly been beefed up since the PSG star’s arrival, but it appears this was not enough to stop some guests from losing prized possessions and assets they had left in their rooms prior.

“There has clearly been a very serious security breach and it’s being investigated,” a police source told reporters. “There is evidence to suggest an experienced gang was responsible.”

It isn’t the first time this happened to a PSG star as earlier this year, Angel Di Maria was playing in Paris Saint-Germain’s shock defeat to Nantes but he was substituted after sporting director Leonardo was informed of the situation happening at the player’s home in Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Di Maria headed straight down the tunnel and out of the stadium as he rushed to his wife and kids.

Messi, The six-time Ballon d’Or winner and his family, are now set to move out of the five-star hotel after finding a home to rent in the city.
