With the 2021 regular season in the books, eyes quickly turn to the upcoming postseason. For some teams that did not make the playoffs, farewell tales take center stage. Mathias and Alex have come together to discuss these good bye stories as well as make predictions for the upcoming postseason.

Cheap Seats Chatter: Kyle Seager’s Farewell to Seattle

Veteran Third Baseman Kyle Seager has called Seattle his home for the last decade, but that time may be coming to an end. With a club option for 2022 worth about $20 million, the choice to bring back Seager for an 11th season of Mariner baseball seems unlikely.

In the 9th inning of the final game of the Mariner season, Manager Scott Servais pulled Seager from the game to give him his farewell in front of a nearly full T-Mobile Park. Emotions were high at the field as players and fans alike paid their respects to the Mariner captain whose future with the team is unclear.

Cheap Seats Chatter: “Mr. National” Likely to Hang it Up

Sunday also showed another local legend ending his time with his team. Infielder Ryan Zimmerman has spent his entire career with Washington including being the first draft pick in the Franchise’s history.

The two time All Star and four time MVP vote getter is likely calling it a career after 16 years all with the Nationals. Over that time span, he has amassed a WAR of 40.1 and is only 16 homers short of the 300 milestone.

Cheap Seats Chatter: MLB Playoff Bracketology Predictions

Now that the regular season has come to it’s thrilling conclusion, the bracket is set for postseason baseball. Each matchup all the way to the World Series is full of talent and star power.

Mathias and Alex both filled out their brackets and each came up with a different matchup for the World Series. However, there were some matchups where the matches didn’t feel quite fair, especially on the National League side.
