Reigning ONE Light Heavyweight Roman Kryklia will be defending his title anew as he is finally set to meet his latest challenger, Murat Aygun in the main event of ONE: NEXTGEN inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 29.

Roman Kryklia vs Murat Aygun

COVID-19 protocol was the main reason why the first meeting between the two was pushed back. The championship match was originally staged last December 2020, but because Kryklia contacted a person who tested positive, he was forced to withdraw from the event.

Meanwhile, Aygun demolished the replacement opponent Anderson “Braddock” Silva to maintain his status as the number one contender to Roman’s championship.

The Ukrainian champion though was called to defend the golden strap against Andrei Stoica in the ONE: Collision Course event and was also successful in retaining his title which perfectly sets up this much-anticipated fight between the two kickboxing stars.

Elsewhere in the event’s card is the semifinal pairings of the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix where Ritu Phogat squares off against Itsuki Hirata and Stamp Fairtex clashes with Julie Mezabarba (who replaced Seo Hee Ham due to injury) to determine the finalists of the tournament.

Wrapping up the lineup of fights is the Heavyweight mixed martial arts match between Kirill Grishenko and Dustin Joynson, the Strawweight rematch of Jeremy Miado and Miao Li Tao, and finally, the Light Heavyweight Kickboxing bout of Beybalut Isaev and Bogdan Stoica.
