North Carolina Tar Heels NBA Talent

The North Carolina Tar Heels open up the season on November 9th at 7:00 vs Loyola Maryland.

There will be 15 players on the roster in the 2021-2022 season.

Here are the players that have the potential to go into the NBA.

Armando Bacot

Bacot, a 6’10 power forward declared for the draft after last season but ultimately chose to come back and play another year for the Tar Heels. He is a force on the glass who averaged 7.8 rebounds last season. His wingspan is 7’1 in which he has great strength. Bacot’s scoring consists of layups, dunks, and baby hooks. In the offseason, Bacot was working on his 3-point shooting because his new head coach, Hubert Davis told him that he is going to have to develop a perimeter game. In the summer, the 6’10’ power forward made 1,000 3-pointers every week.

Dawson Garcia

Garcia, the 6’11 big man recently played for Marquette University Golden Eagles and then transferred to North Carolina. The former Marquette star is a player that can stretch the floor and makes plays off the dribble. He has a great first step for a player his size can pull up from deep. Last season, Garcia averaged 13.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists on 48% shooting. Garcia is a Top 100 Prospect in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Caleb Love

The 6’4 point guard was a five-star recruit coming out of Saint Louis, Missouri. Last season. he averaged 10.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on 31.6% shooting. Love has struggled to make shots consistently, but he can take the ball to the rim and score. His defensive prowess is better than his offensive game, but he projects as a second-round prospect in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Brady Manek

Manek is a fifth-year senior who used to play for the Oklahoma Sooners but transferred to North Carolina for his fifth-year eligibility. He is a power forward that can knock down shots who helps spread the floor for his teammates. The 6’9 forward has good hands who can finish at the rim. Although he needs work in other aspects of his game such as his passing ability and containing opponents that are quicker than him, Manek can potentially make an NBA roster due to his shooting ability.

These four players are on the radar for the 2022 NBA Draft.

It is going to be an exciting year for the Tar Heels as hopefully, they will win the NCAA Championship this season!
