After a frustrating first half Leroy Sané set up a scintillating 15 Minute spell where Bayern Munich showed why they’re considered one of the favourites for this seasons Champions League with an impressive 4:0 win.

For all their statistical dominance in the first half, Bayern didn’t manage to find the right solutions in the final third against a hard-working Benfica.

Bayern thought they had taken the lead Lewandowski with a close-range finish from Coman’s fine cross, but the ball went in off the Polish goal machines arm and was chalked off.

With 64% possession and 4 shots on target Bayern who was missing their manager Julian Nagelsmann due to illness, no doubt felt hard done by not to have gone into the half with the lead.

Lewangoalski Strikes Again

Just minutes into the second half Coman who started the half on fire sends in a perfect cross that finds Pavard at the far post, he took a touch and rattled in a shot but somehow Vlachodimos turned his shot onto the post.

Within minutes wonderful technique by Müller who lashed a volley against the post but he was ruled offside.

For the second time of the evening, Bayern had the ball in the back of the net and again it was ruled out. Müller tapped into an empty net after yet again sensational approach play from Coman and the VAR ruled it out for offside denying the German his 50th Champions League goal.

An outstanding save by Neuer prevented Bayern from falling behind as Diogo Gonçalves curled into the top corner and somehow Neuer clawed it out and away.

The breakthrough came in the 70th minute with a wonder strike from Leroy Sané, the winger lined up the free-kick and blasted it over the wall with wicked pace on the ball and it flew into the top corner.

Bayern managed to settle the nerves in the 80th minute after only just coming on, some great play from Gnabry to run in behind the Benfica defence, he tried to pick out Sané and Everton the Benfica defender instinctively headed it back into his own net.

What a panic, Bayern ending the game with a flourish as again Gnabry showing his danger down the right, his low cross finding Sané who squared it for a simple tap-in for the great Robert Lewandowski for his 16th goal in 12 games this season and 6th in the Champions League.

Four goals in 15 minutes for a rampant destructive Bayern who cut Benfica apart. Sané is in the right place at the right time to sidefoot in from 12 yards after a devastating move by the scintillating Bayern attack.
