Cross Promotion Super-Fights That the MMA World Would Love to See

For years the combat sports world has tried to imagine what it would be like to see the greatest fighter of one promotion, fight the greatest of another. It truly is an intriguing concept and with the sport ever-evolving, now is as good a time as any to start matchmaking some possible super fights.

Stipe Miocic vs Arjan Bhullar

When it comes to heavyweight fighting nothing is certain, blink and someone is unconscious. It has been a great year for ONE Championship, with many crazy finishes and new champions, one of those being the Indian powerhouse, Arjan “Singh” Bhullar. Bhullar has actually called out the former UFC heavyweight champion recently after Miocic was voicing his frustrations in finding a fight.

This would be a battle for the ages, Miocic is in a difficult position, coming off of a fierce knockout to lose his belt but with a win against the champion of what people say is the second best combat sports promotion in the world would leave him in an almost confirmed position as the heavyweight GOAT.

For Bhullar, a win would solidify himself as a top 3 heavyweight fighter in the world. This could be a great move business-wise for example Bhullar defeats Miocic and then calls out Ngannou, Dana White will then buy-in on the heavyweight super fight to prove his promotion is the greatest and if the Indian champion was to defeat the “Predator” then we could see a whole bunch of cross-promotion fights for the UFC the prove their greatness in mixed martial arts.

Ray Cooper III vs Vicente Luque

PFL is a promotion that runs a little differently from your average fight organization. With a “playoff” style that is played in seasons, we have seen incredible fighter activity with only weeks between bouts for victorious fighters. In each respected division a champion is crowned to finish a season. We last saw Cooper III win a decision against UFC great, Rory MacDonald.

UFC might have the most stacked welterweight division in all of the combat sports, one name that flies under the radar is Vicente Luque. “The Silent Assassin” has been climbing the rankings for some time now and always puts on a show. With his only loss in the last few years being a decision shortcoming against the hardest puzzle to solve in fighting, Stephen Thompson.

With finishes over the likes of Niko Price and Michael Chiesa, Luque has gained the attention of the champion but with the title picture being clustered at the moment “The Silent Assassin” has shown interest in a super fight with Stockton’s own, Nate Diaz. So a super fight is already on the table for Luque and who knows, with a successful 2022 we could see him cross paths with Cooper III.

Alexander Volkanovski vs AJ McKee

When it comes to featherweight fighting there is no shortage of talent, the last year has shown us how great youngster AJ McKee truly is, with terrifying power and a super slick ground game. He did what many thought to be impossible and knocked out Patricio “Pitbull” to win. the Bellator featherweight title.

Volkanovski is the definition of a champion, he showed this in his last time out against Brian Ortega. The Aussie loves a challenge and would be more than happy to compete against a youngster of the game, especially with the talent and work ethic of McKee.

Stylistically this matchup has the potential to be the greatest fight of all time. The toughness of Volkanovski mixed with the submission game of McKee not only makes scrambles super interesting but also the wrestling aspect of takedowns and takedown defense. The length of McKee will definitely come Into play and Volkanovski has proved twice before that he can deal with such difference but the young and hungry mind mixed with extremely dynamic striking leaves this bout, possibly the most intriguing in all possible cross-promotion super fights.
