ONE Championship’s grand event on December 5, dubbed as “ONE: X” will be pushed back to early next year as a high viral record outbreak of COVID-19 cases in Singapore, where the promotion is headquartered is being experienced.
The news was shared by no other than the organization’s President and CEO, Chatri Sityodtong in a Facebook post last night.
This was supposed to be ONE’s commemoration of their 10th year anniversary as a promotion since its founding in 2011. Since then, a number of milestones were achieved by martial arts outfits and were even called Asia’s version of the UFC.
So far, there were three huge match-ups that are scheduled in the upcoming event namely the super fight between Rodtang Jitmuangon and Demetrious Johnson in a four-round flyweight Muay Thai and MMA hybrid fight and the All-Brazilian ONE Bantamweight Title showdown of reigning champion, Bibiano Fernandes and number one contender, John Lineker.
Also included in the card is the inaugural title defense of ONE Featherweight champion, Thanh Le as he faces the multiple-time BJJ World Champion, Garry Tonon to determine the undisputed king of the Featherweights.
As promised by Sityodtong, more exciting news will be released in the coming days about the mega event.
