Bellator 270 takes place on Friday night, with the promotion returning to Dublin for the first time since February 2020. With plenty of Irish talent on display, a certain Welshman is ready to become “The new star in Bellator MMA” as he makes his promotional debut at the 3Arena.
The Long-Awaited Debut
He told OvertimeHeroicsMMA, “It’s fight week, I’m feeling great. I’ve known about this fight for 14 weeks, so I’ve had perfect preparation. Peaking at the right time, weight is good, I’m ready to go!”.
It’s been a nightmare for Pallett trying to get his Bellator career underway, after cancellations on two occasions with Justin Burlinson. “The fight with me and Justin fell through twice. First time the May London card was cancelled due to lockdowns. Then in Milan it was cancelled because one of his corner team tested positive for Covid so they all got sent home.”
The Welshman is ready to show off his talents on Friday night. On the feet, on the ground, he can do it all. “I really can’t wait to make my Bellator debut it’s been a long time coming I’ve had 2 fights cancelled due to the pandemic. Fighting in Ireland is going to be special, I have family here as all of my dads side are still living here. It will be nice to have some family in the crowd rooting for me.”
Welsh Takeover in MMA
Welsh MMA is on the rise, with rising talents in the UFC, Bellator, Cage Warriors and so on. Since his last performance, all the way back in May 2019 when he won the Full Contact Contender Welterweight Championship, Pallett believes he’s a completely different fighter since then.
“At the time watching it back I was happy with my performance. The guy I fought was a very decorated grappler so I had a game plan to beat him on the feet. There’s no point watching tape on me because I’m twice the fighter I was back then.”
Pallett will have all the support from his home nation on Friday night, and he’s ready to do his fans proud. “The Welsh takeover in MMA & Bellator in general continues! I have plenty of support from my nation and have a fair few coming over to watch me. I’m gonna put on a show and represent in style!”.
When it comes to an opponent, it’s your choice on how much effort you put into studying their game. For Pallett, it’s more about concentrating on himself, as he knows he can get the job done.
“I don’t really have any thoughts on him I’m focused on myself, I beat him everywhere simple. I respect him and he’s from a good team but I’m better and Friday I’ll show it. My prediction is my hand raised. 6-0. A new star in Bellator MMA.”
