Mateusz Gamrot Returns at UFC Fight Night 199

Mateusz Gamrot will return at UFC Fight Night 199 that will take place on December 18, 2021, at the UFC Apex facility headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Chris Daukaus and will be facing his most formidable opponent to date, 11th ranked Lightweight Diego Ferreira.

The last time we saw Gamrot was at UFC Fight Night on September 17. The Pole come away with a highly impressive 1st round Kimora victory over veteran Jeremy Stephens.

How Gamrot vs Ferreira Match up

Gamrot came into the UFC as a very highly rated talent at KSW. He was double Champion and undefeated at (17-0), although his octagon debut didn’t go as planned, being on the receiving end of a controversial decision loss against Georgian Guram Kutateladze.

Gamrot returned to winning ways in 2021 with a dominating 2nd round stoppage win over Scott Holtzman. With a short turnaround, Gamrot returned three months later for his most recent impressive win over Stephens taking his record to (19-1). Its no doubt Diego Ferreira will be his biggest challenge to date. Still, with the opportunity to kick down the door to the top 10 rankings in the Lightweight division, there’s no doubt Mateusz Gamrot will take the opportunity with open arms.

Ferreira is a seven-year veteran of UFC currently on a two-fight losing streak will be looking to get back to winning ways before he turns 37 years old in January with a record of (17-4) all of Ferreira’ losses have come to top-ranked opponents Beneil Dariush twice, Dustin Poirier and most recently Gregor Gillespie respectively, no shame losing to any of those names Ferreira will be looking to use his experience to shut out the younger Gamrot and establish control of the fight both men are high-level black belts in BJJ who are more than happy to stay on their feet this has Fight of the Night written all over it.
