The ever impressive Norwegian goal scoring machine Erling Haaland obliterated a pair of records on Saturday, becoming the youngest player ever to reach half a century (50) of Bundesliga goals, as well as being the player who has needed the fewest games to reach the landmark.

Haaland was 21 years, four months and six days of age when he made his unexpected return from injury following a seven-game absence to put his seal of approval on a 3-1 win at Wolfsburg that also saw goals from Emre Can and Donyell Malen. In turn taking just 50 games to hit 50 goals a remarkable record, Haaland smashed Timo Konietzka’s previous record by 12 matches.

Haaland’s goal for Dortmund was his 10th in just seven games of a season that was unfortunately interrupted by a hip flexor muscle injury that had sidelined him since mid-October. Haaland’ return to the line up was a positive end to a week that saw Dortmund crash out of the Champions League on Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to Sporting Lisbon.

The win ment that Dortmund briefly went top, but Bayern Munich beat Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 to go back above them.

Dortmund will be hoping Haaland will add to his tally when they host Bayern Munich in a top-of-the-table Klassiker on 4 December.

Haaland vs Lewandowski and Dortmund vs Bayern Munich who will come out on top?
