It has been over a year since we last saw a event by World Lethwei Championship (WLC), with WLC13: Showcase that was headlined by Antonio Faria and Jose Francisco Vinuelas on 25th September 2020, well things are about to change WLC is coming back!!.
Multi Year Deal
WLC has agreed a multi year partnership with Erik Alonso’s No Limit Sports Agency, Erik the charismatic businessman is known for his ventures in Boxing and football.
In the announcement its stated that the deal includes atleast two international events to be held annually, which after over a year out would be a big step in the right direction who’s events was previously aired on UFC Fight Pass among other formats, aswel as the opportunity to stream past events via Amazon Prime.
Pre Covid and the horrendous problems that the Myanmar people have encountered over the last year via the military coup WLC was establishing themselves as a huge entity in the Bare Knuckle world and there is no reason why with this new deal that WLC won’t be able to get back to where they was previously and maybe even supersede their previous efforts.
With the global expansion that Erik Alonso brings to WLC we could be about to witness the assault of Lethwei on the world of Combat Sports.
Are you excited to see the return of World Lethwei Championship? Although no date has been set as yet we’re sure there will be a update in due time and will no doubt be due the wait with the possibility to see Lethwei Superstars such as Dave Leduc, Antonio Faria, Artur Saladiak and Souris Manfredi back trading Bare Knuckle blows on the biggest stage in Lethwei.
