Brandon Moreno Hilariously Reacts to Garbrandt TKO at UFC 269

At UFC 269, Kai Kara-France welcomed Cody Garbrandt to the flyweight division with a TKO in the very first round. UFC fans and fighters worldwide watched the action, including current flyweight champion Brandon Moreno.

Keeping An Eye On The Compitetion

Moreno (19-5-2) achieved his dreams of UFC gold in June when he faced then-champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 263. Moreno captured the flyweight title after submitting Figueiredo via rear-naked choke in the third round.

Moreno was in front of his TV for Garbrandt’s flyweight debut, keeping up with potential challengers. Despite being the betting favorite heading into the bout, Garbrandt was finished in the first by Kara-France. Unfortunately for Moreno, it looks like Moreno had some money on Garbrandt, and Kara-France spoiled the party, as seen in a hilarious video uploaded to Twitter.

Hopefully, the champ didn’t lose much money betting on “No Love,” and it’s evident that Garbrandt’s flyweight debut did not go the way he or a majority of bettors had hoped.

“Some People Aren’t Built For This”

Garbrandt is now 1-5 in his last six bouts. After back-to-back losses to T.J. Dillashaw and a third straight loss to Pedro Munhoz, Garbrandt got back into the win column against Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250. Since then, Garbrandt has dropped his last two, including Saturday’s TKO, to Kara-France.

During the UFC 269 press conference, Garbrandt and UFC fan favorite Sean O’Malley got into a war of words, eventually squaring up to one another. During Garbrandt’s bout with Kara-France, O’Malley was in the middle of a post-fight interview and threw some shade Garbrandt’s way after seeing the TKO on a monitor.

After months of preparation for a drop to the flyweight division, it does not seem likely that we will see Garbrandt and O’Malley, who competes at bantamweight, meet in the Octagon. However, it does seem that Cody’s best days are behind him, and a fight with O’Malley would be financially beneficial as it would all, but guarantee a main card spot or a possible Fight Night main event.
