MMA Fighters React to Jake Paul’s Knockout of Tyron Woodley

Tyron Woodley returned to the boxing ring for a short notice rematch against social media star Jake Paul.

In August, Paul and Woodley faced each other in a highly contested boxing match. Paul narrowly escaped with a split decision victory that night. At one point in the bout, Woodley hurt Paul but failed to capitalize on the moment, and Paul ultimately won the bout on volume.

How the Mighty Have Fallen

Coming into the fight on a five-fight losing skid, ‘The Chosen One’ was looking for some redemption. Unfortunately, he didn’t find it and extended his losing streak to six after a perfectly delivered right hand from Paul rendered him unconscious.

The fight mainly consisted of hugging and clinching until the knockout shot was delivered in round six. The victory moves Paul to 5-0 in his professional boxing career, though none of those wins is against professional boxers.

His victories include wins over fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib, former NBA star Nate Robinson and former Bellator and ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren. His last two fights have been against Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion with no professional boxing experience prior to his two fights with Paul.

Paul has drawn the ire of the MMA community for his trash-talk towards professional mixed martial artists like Jorge Masvidal, Kamaru Usman and Nate Diaz. Paul has also taken aim at UFC President Dana White.

During Saturday’s fight, multiple professional MMA fighters reacted to Paul’s stunning sixth-round knockout on social media.
