Khamzat Chimaev has been on an absolute tear since debuting with the UFC in July 2020.
In his debut, Chimaev defeated John Phillips via submission. It was a dominant performance. Just 10 days later, he returned to the Octagon on very short notice and earned a TKO win over Rhys McKee.
Who’s Next?
Currently undefeated, Chimaev (10-0, 4-0 UFC) has been actively calling out fighters on social media, looking for his next victim in the cage. Ranked #11 in the welterweight division, “Borz” has called out everyone from the Diaz brothers, Conor McGregor, Colby Covington, Sean Brady and even former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
Despite the desire to get back into the cage after a lopsided win over Jinglian Li at UFC 267, nobody has signed on the dotted line to face Chimaev in the new year. Dana White has commented that finding an opponent for “Borz” has been challenging.
“Nobody wants to fight this guy. Everybody wants to get out on social media and say this and say that and blah, blah, blah. But when it really comes down to it, nobody’s trying to fight Khamzat Chimaev,” said White.
“I’ve Been Ready”
Only one man has been open about wanting the fight with Chimaev; Neil Magny. Responding to the comments White made, Magny posted on Twitter, “I know a guy who’s ready!”
Chimaev responded saying, “I come for you, get ready skinny boy.” Magny simply responded with, “I’ve been ready.”
Things seemed to simmer down between the two until recently when Chimaev took to social media to further confirm that he is ready to enter the cage with Magny.
“@danawhite let me eat this guy bro neil_magny170,” Chimaev posted on his Instagram.

Nothing has been made official as of this writing, but Dana White has commented that a fight announcement for Chimaev is imminent. Magny has been vocal about his willingness to take on the streaking welterweight and is the most likely of options on the table for “Borz” and the UFC.
