Ariel Helwani was the first to report that Chan Sung Jung (17-6) was the frontrunner. “Chan Sung Jung is currently the frontrunner, by a margin, to replace Holloway versus Alex Volkanovski, per sources… Alex Volkanovski wants Chan Sung Jung on March 5, per his manager Ash James. That’s who they want unequivocally. Zombie is in, too, I’m told. Just need to be formally offered at this point,” Helwani stated.

Zombie made his UFC debut in 2011 and earned three straight victories over Leonard Garcia, Mark Hominick, and Dustin Poirier. Zombie earned a featherweight title shot against then-champion Jose Aldo.
After coming up short in his title bid, Zombie took a hiatus to complete two years of mandatory military service in his native South Korea.
Since his return in 2017, Zombie is 4-2 with his most recent victory coming against Dan Ige in June.
