Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor was hosting a special menu tasting at his establishment, Black Forge Inn, in Dublin, when two individuals on scooters reportedly threw firebombs at the pub in a drive-by attack.
Multiple reports state that McGregor was not on-site at the time of the incident.
McGregor is regularly seen at the pub and has refashioned the establishment in recent months, turning it into one of Dublin’s most popular nightlife hotspots.
Update on Black Forge Inn
“There were two people allegedly spotted on scooters who passed the establishment at the time and next thing they were being chased by two others who had come out of the property,” a source told Dublin Live.
A spokesperson for Garda, Ireland’s national police and security service said, “Garda are investigating an incident of attempted criminal damage at a licensed premises on the Drimnagh Road last night.”
“No damage was done to the premises, Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to this incident is asked to contact Gardai,” the spokesperson continued. “Gardai are particularly keen for anyone with camera footage from the area overnight to make this available to them.”
It was reported in April that McGregor purchased Black Forge Inn for £2 million.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no building damage was sustained in the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
