Former UFC and Bellator title challenger Chael Sonnen has been added to the broadcast team of Eagle Fighting Championship. Sonnen is expected to debut with the promotion at Eagle FC 44 : Spong vs Kharitonov, which is set for January 28th.

The Khabib Nurmagomedov owned promotion announced the news on social media that ‘The Bad Guy ‘ had officially joined the company.

However, this is not going to be Chael’s first rodeo behind the mic, as the three-time UFC title challenger had done analyst work previously for both UFC and Bellator. He also has been an (MMA) analyst for ESPN since 2015 and was part of the super-popular show‘ Ariel & The Bad Guy’. He currently co-hosts “The Chael Sonnen Show with Jorge Sedano” on ESPN+ and appears on a number of MMA programs across platforms and on event coverage, including reports on SportsCenter from UFC events. On top of that, he also enjoys a flourishing Youtube channel, which has almost 1 million subscribers.

“Khabib and Sonnen – the two undefeated champions are joining forces,” Sonnen said in a statement. “Eagle FC, Friday.”

Sonnen would accompany a high-profile commentary team featuring former two-division UFC Champion Henry Cejudo and former two-time UFC title challenger Felicia Spencer.

Not only did Eagle FC sign former UFC fighters in broadcasting roles, they even made news across the world by signing former UFC champions like Rashad Evans and Renan Barao as well as former title challengers in Ray Borg and Bigfoot Silva.
