Holly Holm isn’t the only fighter returning after a long layoff in May. First reported by BJPenn.com, Blagoy Ivanov will return to the Octagon against Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 274. The UFC has not made an official announcement, but de Lima did confirm the bout on Instagram.
UFC 274 was originally going to be the promotion’s return to Brazil. It appears those plans have been scrapped, and the event will likely take place in the United States.
Blagoy Ivanov (18-4, 2-3 UFC) last appeared in the Octagon in May 2020 where he lost a split decision to Augusto Sakai. It was Ivanov’s second straight loss, the previous defeat coming against heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis.
Prior to signing with the UFC, Ivanov became the World Series of Fighting heavyweight champion in his debut with the promotion, defeating Smealinho Rama via submission. Ivanov would go on to defend the title three times under the WSOF banner and once again when the promotion was rebranded as the PFL.
Ivanov’s two wins in the UFC came against heavyweight veteran Ben Rothwell and fan favorite Tai Tuivasa.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima (19-7-1, 8-5 UFC) made his UFC debut in 2014 on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3. He defeated Thiago Santos via submission to earn a spot in the TUF house, but lost in the semifinal round to Antonio Carlos Junior.
Despite the loss, de Lima was signed to the promotion and earned back-to-back victories in his first two bouts. Since then, de Lima has traded wins and losses, but once again finds himself on a two-fight win streak with a chance to make it three-in-a-row against Ivanov.
In 2021, de Lima earned victories over Maurice Greene and had a memorable 32 second TKO against Ben Rothwell in November.
No location, venue, or broadcast team has been announced for UFC 274. Bouts currently scheduled for the event include:

- Macy Chiasson vs. Norma Dumont- women’s bantamweight bout
- Ariane Carnelossi vs. Loopy Godinez- straweight bout
