UFC 271 is nearly upon us, it’s time for our UFC 271 Staff Picks! This is a great card that you do not want to miss.

In the main event, Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya defends his title in a rematch against former Middleweight champ, Robert Whittaker. The first contest was a defining one for Adesanya when he unified the interim and undisputed title by knocking out Whittaker in the 2nd round. Since then Adesanya has defended his title 3 times, while also challenging for the Light Heavyweight Championship and falling by decision to Jan Błachowicz at UFC 259 in February of 2021.

Adesanya’s most recent defense was a decision win over Marvin Vettori at UFC 263 in June of 2021. Since his loss to Adesanya, Whittaker has won 3 straight, defeating Darren Till, Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum, all by decision win.

The main card is kicked off at lightweight with Bobby Green vs Nasrat Haqparast, followed by Kyler Phillips vs Marcelo Rojo at bantamweight. A potential number one contender fight between Derek Brunson vs Jared Cannonier and the co-main is headlined by Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa in a don’t blink, heavyweight clash.
