Manchester United is the first Premier League team to record 700 EPL wins after their 4-2 victory against Leeds United in February. Bruno Fernandez and Harry Maguire put the Red Devils ahead during the first half, after scoring a goal each. However, Leeds equalized with a one-minute period through goals from Rodrigo and Rafinha.
Ralf Rangick managed to get his second-half tactics right, with Elanga and Fred coming in to score two goals to give Manchester United their well-deserved new EPL milestone. This was great news for Asian EPL fans following the Vwin sportsbook. Out of their 700 EPL wins, 399 victories have been at Old Trafford, with the most away wins being at Goodison Park (17) and Villa Park (17).
History Made in the Premier League
Their game against Leeds was a historic landmark, as that was the first time that Manchester United supporters visited Elland Road for an EPL game in the last 19 years. The last time the two teams met for an EPL game was back in October 2003 in Yorkshire, when Roy Keane recorded the winning goal in the last moments of the game to give Sir Alex Ferguson’s men the crucial three points.
Manchester did play at Elland Road last season, but fans weren’t allowed in stadiums due to the pandemic’s restrictions. As such, recent history suggested there would be lots of goals at the stadium, as Manchester United’s confidence was bolstered by the support of their fans.
The Red Devils have now recorded 15 goals against the Whites and conceded five goals in their last four games. Manchester recorded their first-ever Premier League victory against Southampton in 1992, when Dion Dublin scored in the 88th minute to settle the game at the Dell.
Manchester United Above the Rest
Following their new milestone, Manchester United has 90 more wins compared to Chelsea, who ranks second in most matches won at 610, with Arsenal standing close behind at 609. United’s legend Ryan Giggs is the player who has recorded the most wins in a general while with the club, recording 407 victories out of his 632 appearances. Scholes takes the second spot on the list with 321 wins.
Despite their impressive record, Manchester has come under heavy criticism after stumbling against Watford in Old Trafford in a goalless draw. However, many fans still believe that the Red Devils have a strong advantage over Arsenal to land a top-four finish in the EPL.
Arsenal is currently standing two points behind Manchester United, but they still have three games at hand over the Red Devils. However, the Gunners will have to do a lot to take over Manchester United in the fourth position, as the three games at hand will be against tough teams (Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea).
Manchester United has the chance to do more and while fans were frustrated by their draw against Watford, Rangnick has taken precautions to ensure they are unbeaten in their last 10 games. However, the Red Devils aren’t at their best possible level, although their interim boss is working hard to ensure they keep up with the momentum and hopefully win their next match against Manchester City.
