The Giants will be hoping that Carlos Rodón can help replace some of the production that was lost when Kevin Gausman left for Toronto earlier in the off-season.
Carlos Rodón Signs With San Francisco
It has been announced that the biggest pitcher left on the free agent market, Carlos Rodón, has signed with the San Francisco Giants.
Left-handed starter Carlos Rodón and the San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a two-year, $44 million contract that includes an opt-out after the first season, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

Rodón, the third overall selection by the Chicago White Sox in 2014, overcame a bit of a rough start to his career. Having battled an assortment of arm injuries, Rodón actually found himself non-tendered by the South Siders in 2020, while his ERA ballooned over 8.
Last year, Rodón finally realized his potential. He started the year off with a bang throwing his first no-hitter on April 14th, and was selected to his first mid-summer classic. He eventually finished the year with a 2.37 ERA.
The Risk of Carlos Rodón
Rodón was certainly one of the bigger risks this off-season. While he was an All Star in 2021, it was also the first time he threw over 130 innings since 2016. Injuries to his wrist, shoulder and elbows robbed Rodón most of his 2017, 2019 and 2020 seasons.
