Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria had an altercation that nearly erupted into a full-blown brawl.
Ahead of their appearances at UFC London on Saturday, Topuria and ‘The Baddy’ had an incident that was captured on video and uploaded to Topuria’s Instagram page. The video shows Topuria and his team squaring up to Pimblett and throwing punches before being broken up seconds later.
Topuria is in London to face Jai Herbert at Saturday’s event at the O2 Arena. After the altercation, Topuria provided some context as to why the incident occurred.
“I warned you! This is what happens when you disrespect me and my country! You saw me and wanted to greet me because you sh*t your pants… and you should thank my team because if it wasn’t for them separating me, I would have taken your head off. This is not twitter, this is real life,” Topuria stated on social media.
The disrespect that Topuria is likely referring to comes from a controversial tweet posted by Pimblett previously.
Pimblett makes his sophomore appearance in the Octagon this weekend against Rodrigo Vargas after an exciting debut in September.
It didn’t take long for ‘The Baddy’ to respond to the video footage uploaded by Topuria.
The UFC has yet to comment on the situation. Both fighters are still currently scheduled to appear at UFC London on Saturday.
