It has been announced that the former NL MVP, Freddie Freeman, has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. While terms have not yet been announced, the Dodgers have added debatably the best first baseman left on the open market.

Freeman, originally a second round choice by the Atlanta Braves in 2007, quickly became a star in Atlanta. Two seasons ago in the Covid-shortened 2020, Freeman had perhaps his finest year leading the league in doubles while batting .341 and winning his first MVP. Freeman has also been known as being an above average fielder, picking up a Gold Glove in 2018.

Freddie Freeman the World Series Champion

While Freddie Freeman has consistently been an above average baseball player, last year saw the slugging first baseman win his first World Series ring. As the cool and quiet leader of the Braves, Freeman hit .318/.360/.636 in the World Series.

Around the diamond, Freeman is known for being one of the “better guys” of baseball. Frequently quick to recognize the accomplishments of his opponents versus his friendly rivalry with Anthony Rizzo, Freeman has found himself as one of the most appreciated players around the league.

Now, he also finds himself as one of the best paid players around the league.
