UFC 273 is just around the corner which means it’s time for our Staff Picks! Our writers and editors have all picked their winners for the main card and it’s round three of our yearlong competition to see who comes out on top!

Main Event

Featherweight champ-Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski defends his title against the UFC veteran-Chan Sung Jung ”The Korean Zombie.” Fourth ranked featherweight-“The Korean Zombie” (17-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over tenth-ranked featherweight-Dan Ige in June of 2021. Jung is 3-1 in his last four contests, winning two by TKO. This will be “The Korean Zombies’s” first title fight since losing to José Aldo all the way back at UFC 163 in 2013.

The champ-Volkanovski (23-1 MMA, 10-0 UFC) is coming off of a dominant-decision victory over Brian Ortega at UFC 266 in September of 2021. Currently on a twenty-fight win streak, with wins over the likes of Max Holloway twice, José Aldo, Chad Mendes and Ortega. ”The Great” is looking to further submit his case as the featherweight GOAT by defeating respected veteran and the always dangerous-Jung.

Main Card

The main card is kicked off at lightweight between Mark Madsen vs. Vinc Pichel, followed by a women’s strawweight bout between Mackenzie Dern vs. Tecia Torres. Next up is a very intriguing welterweight bout with a lot of hype when Khamzat Chimaev faces his toughest challenge yet, former title challenger Gilbert Burns. The co-main event is a much anticipated title rematch at bantamweight between Interim champ-Petr Yan and Champ-Aljamain Sterling.
