SMU transfer Kendric Davis recently entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, now cutting the list to his final seven schools on Monday night. The list consists of three Big 12 teams, and two AAC teams. Here is the full list from CBS insider Jon Rothstein:
SMU Star Kendric Davis Cuts List to 5 Prior to Decision Date
SMU transfer Kendric Davis tells me that he has cut his list to the following five programs:
Kansas
Texas Tech
TCU
Houston
Memphis— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 20, 2022
Davis will announce where he will be attending next season on Friday, April 22. A couple of schools that stick out are Houston and Texas Tech. Red Raiders head coach Mark Adams lost his point guard Terrence Shannon Jr. to the transfer portal. Another possible destination is Houston, with an already experienced roster that has proved to play with the best. The biggest question here is seeing if Marcus Sasser withdraws his name from the early entrants of the NBA Draft.
If Davis were to commit to the Cougars: Kelvin Sampson has himself a national title-contending team. That is if they aren’t the favorites already.
Davis will be in his fifth year at the collegiate level when he transfers.
