Jailton Almeida Calls Out Andrei Arlovski

After his dominant submission victory over heavyweight Parker Porter, Jailton Almeida took to his personal Instagram to call out a former UFC champion and a legend in the heavyweight division, Andrei Arlovski.

Jailton Almeida could have gone back to the light heavyweight division and tried to make his rise up those rankings with his sights on capturing light heavyweight gold. Instead, it looks like he felt comfortable at heavyweight and searched for a big name to propel him into title contention where the heavy hitters call home, by calling out the resurgent Andrei Arlovski, who is currently on a four-fight win streak.

Almeida seeks revenge and payback for Andrei Arlovski’s victory over his friend and a man he considers a brother, Carlos Felipe. What a perfect fight to make with an easily digestible premise – bad blood boiling – and for Almeida to have those thoughts of Arlovski stealing a victory over a “brother”, you know he will be looking for a finish in a fight he hopes to get.

Jailton Almeida Seeks Revenge Against a Resurging UFC Icon

With Almeida’s win fresh in many people’s minds, he easily could be the front runner in this heavyweight fight. However, the ageless wonder Andrei Arlovski should not be counted out as he has had wins lately over opponents that many believed would capture a victory over him.

It is a risky move for Arlovski to take this fight against a rising star, but the potential to take out a young gun like Almeida could add stock to his already iconic resume.

Who knows if this fight will get signed, but what an exciting battle if the UFC matchmakers see the potential for what could be a great co-main fight.

If the UFC sees value in this fight to put it on a card and if Andrei Arlovski takes this dangerous opportunity, who do you, the fans, see winning this potential fight?
