Back To Back Points For Mick Schumacher In Austria

It took Mick Schumacher 33 races to score back to back points in Formula 1 as the talented German earned points at Silverstone, and followed up with an impressive 6th place finish in Austria.

Schumacher followed up his maiden points from Silverstone by qualifying P7 in Austria, followed up by a frustrating sprint race that appeared to see Schumacher held back by his Haas teammate Magnussen and finish in P9. Right from the off Mick Schumacher had the bit between his teeth, and the German was looking both revitalized and determined to finish in the points.

Austrian GP P6 For Mick Schumacher

Schumacher gained an early place due to the Red Bull of Perez getting clipped and spinning off the track. The young German patiently waited for his opportunity and continued his battle from the sprint race with 7-time Champion Lewis Hamilton exchanging positions with the Brit. After the first lot of pitstops, Schumacher found himself in 13th with all the work to do, he quickly displaced McLarens Ricciardo and set his sights on Lando Norris.

Making quick work of the second Mclaren, Schumacher had his teammate Magnussen in his sights. By the halfway point of the race, Mick Schumacher managed to get past Magnussen with a slick clean overtake. The remainder of the race saw Schumacher make his second pitstops and maintain P6, making it a successful back-to-back set of results for both Schumacher and Haas.

The result now sees Mick Schumacher move up to 15th in the Drivers standings with 12 points, and Haas up to 7th with 34 points ahead of Alpha Tauri, Aston Martin and Williams. The sublime performance in Austria earned Mick Schumacher driver of the day.
