Nate Diaz vs. Khamzat Chimaev to Main Event UFC 279

Nate Diaz’s final fight on his contract seems to be verbally agreed upon for UFC 279 against rising star Khamzat Chimaev.

The bout was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

Okamoto tweeted ”Khamzat vs. Nate. UFC 279 on Sept. 10 at T-Mobile Arena. Main Event. Five Rounds. Verbally agreed, per UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell. It is the final fight on Nate Diaz’s current UFC contract.”

Nate Diaz has been adamant about getting the final fight of his UFC contract done. Depsite recent contract struggles, it seems that the two have come to a resolution resulting in Khamzat Chimaev getting his wish to fight Diaz in the Octagon.
