The 1990 World Cup final took place in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico. West Germany won this tournament for the third time, defeating Argentina 1-0. The third place was bagged by the home team Italy. Also, the official match ball was called Adidas Etrusco Unico. This tournament was so iconic worldwide that it is still one of the most watched events in television history.


This World Cup was collectively hosted by Japan and South Korea and is remembered as the first World Cup in Asia. A proud moment for all the Asians in the world. This tournament was also special because it featured co-hosts for the first time, and it was won by Brazil, who beat Germany 2-0 in the final.


South Africa took the responsibility of hosting in 2010, and finally, Africa pioneered hosting. This tournament saw the first-ever goal by an African team in the final when Ghana beat Uruguay 3-2 in the quarterfinals. In the finale between Spain and the Netherlands, Spain won 1-0.


The 2014 World Cup circled back to Brazil. The world witnessed the emergence of a new generation of stars, such as Neymar and James Rodriguez.
