Following BKFC’s (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) announcement that they signed Muay Thai star Buakaw Banchamek, the promotion has added another Muay Thai legend in Saenchai.
As reported by Damon Martin with MMA Fighting, Saenchai has signed a multi-fight deal with the bare-knuckle organization. Saenchai is widely considered to be one of the most decorated strikers in combat sports history with over 300 wins to his name.
“BKFC has signed another Muay Thai legend to the roster – this time its Saenchai, who holds a ridiculous 313-41-5 record during his career,” Martin tweeted. “He’ll now crossover to bare-knuckle competition alongside Buakaw, who also signed with BKFC just recently. @bareknucklefc.”
Currently, Saenchai is in his fourth decade of competing as a professional. The Muay Thai superstar has not experienced defeat since 2014. Going back to 2010, he has fought 88 times in 15 countries making him the most active international fighter in the world. Saenchai is a former WBC, WMC, and WPMF world champion and has been crowned the Lumpinee Stadium champion in four different weight classes.
With Sanechai, BKFC Continues to Sign the Best Free Agents in the World of Muay Thai
BKFC continues its recent trend of blockbuster signings with the addition of the Muay Thai icon. Saenchai joins Buakaw Banchemek as the latest Muay Thai striker to sign with the promotion. Recently, BKFC has signed other notable talents including former UFC competitors John Dodson and Felice Herrig. The promotion is already the home of former UFC stars Paige VanZant and ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.
On August 20th, BKFC will head to London for a highly anticipated crossover main event featuring Bellator MMA’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page and BKFC’s Mike Perry.
No opponent or debut date has been announced by the promotion, but a September event scheduled to take place in Thailand could be the first time we see Saenchai in the squared circle.
