The NASCAR Cup Series was in Indianapolis for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard or the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The playoff picture unfolds and the race did not disappoint, from Kyle Larson flying through the turn and causing a hard wreck, and there were plenty of other spins, crashes and heated tempers during the Indianapolis road course race.

The 2022 Verizon 200 winner was #8, Tyler Reddick, capturing his first victory at the world-famous Brickyard. The NASCAR Playoffs are dead ahead and the field of 16 drivers is nearly set. The regular season schedule is winding down with just four races remaining. 

Chase Elliot ranked number one in the standings with 2040 points accumulated over the regular season. The number 9 Hendrick Motorsports driver has four wins on the season, including 8 top-five finishes and 15 top tens to date.  Ross Chastain just barely out of the top spot is currently second in the standings with 2022 points. The Trackhouse Racing team driver of the number one car will head into the final four races with two wins and ten top-five finishes in 2022. Joey Logano sits in third place with 2016 points throughout the 2022 season. The 2018 NASCAR Cup series champion will look to earn his second title as a driver for the Penske Race team. In 2022 Joey Logano sits with two wins, five top five’s and nine top ten finishes.

William Byron has 2015 points for the 2022 season and that earns him fourth in the driver standings. William Byron driver of the number 24 Hendrick Motorsports Car has two wins in 2022, he has four top-five finishes and five top-ten finishes this season. Ryan Blaney also holds 2015 points in 2022 and he is currently in the fifth spot. The Penske Team driver of the number 12 car has seven top-five finishes and ten top-ten finishes in 2022. Kyle Larson the defending champion currently rides in sixth place and will set his sights on back-to-back titles. Young Money Kyle Larson has one win and nine top-five finishes in 2022, he also has 11 top-ten finishes.

Martin Truex Jr. is the seventh driver in the standings as he compiled three top-five finishes and nine top-ten finishes for 2022. Tyler Reddick fresh off his win at the Brickyard on Sunday rides in the eighth spot in the standings. Tyler Reddick holds two wins, seven top-five finishes, and nine top-ten finishes in 2022. Denny Hamlin the driver and also part team owner of another pair of cars is the ninth driver in the standings. He has two wins in 2022, and also sits with three top fives, and five top ten finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series. The tenth driver in the playoff standings is Christopher Bell. The number 20 car driver has one win in 2022, and he has also racked up six top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes so far this season. 

The NASCAR Cup Series will have 16 drivers in total battling for the title and the champions’ crown. There are four races remaining in the regular season as 22 of 26 races have been completed.
